MAINTENANCE ASSISTANTS / EQUIPMENT OPERATORS (posted 7/9/24)

Hiring for Maintenance Assistants/Equipment Operators responsible for operating a variety of self-propelled equipment as well as construction, operations and maintenance of the Saranac Lake Center. Experience preferred but willing to train the right person. Under the direction of the Saranac Lake Civic Center General Manager, successful candidates will perform a variety of jobs including minor laboring tasks, general maintenance, and operation of a Zamboni. The successful candidate will perform general maintenance and operational duties at the Civic Center. Other duties will include -

• Interfacing with regular users

• Participation in event set-up/break-down, maintaining a proactive / positive attitude to ensure cleanliness of the facility

• On-ice interaction (ice skating experience a plus) 

• Janitorial duties (sweeping, mopping, general cleaning, disinfecting, etc.) 

• Other labor-oriented duties as assigned such as painting, landscaping, etc. 

 

Entry rate of $15-20/hour based on experience

 

Full-time, part-time and seasonal roles available.

Candidates will be expected to work weekends and holiday work when events are hosted at the Civic Center. Applicants should have possession of a valid/clean New York State Driver’s License. Background check required.
